The Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani has felicitated with Christians as they commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Governor Uba Sani who wrote on his verified Facebook page, on Saturday morning, said Easter is the climax of forty days of fasting, prayer and charity works.
Governor Uba wrote; “I wish to extend my warmest felicitations to our dear Christian brothers and sisters on the joyous occasion of Easter, which is in commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
” Easter is the climax of forty days of fasting, prayer and charity works. For Christians all over the world, the cardinal lessons of Easter lie in Jesus Christ’s unconditional love, absolute forgiveness and glorious self-sacrifice for the redemption of mankind.
“Something unique and symbolic is happening to us this year. Something that points us in the direction of unity and religious tolerance.
” The Lenten period merged with the Ramadan period. Christians and Muslims found themselves bound together in fasting and prayer about the same period.
“As a people of faith, this is highly significant. I believe this provided us the opportunity to reflect on and pray for the realization of our collective vision for a truly united, strong and prosperous nation.
“We must also use the Easter holiday to reflect deeply on what we need to do as a people to ensure the total defeat of the evil forces that work against our unity, progress and economic development.
“I am convinced that the measures being taken by my government are in line with President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to eliminating all forms of criminality and restoring peace and security to our troubled communities.
“I, therefore, urge you, at this solemn occasion, to rededicate yourselves to making sacrifices and supporting government to bring into fruition a peaceful and prosperous Kaduna State, and “a Nation bound in freedom, peace and unity
