The Taraba State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, said it has deployed 1,500 personnel across the State to maintain law and order during and after the Easter celebration.
The announcement was made on Friday at the state command headquarters in Jalingo, the state capital.
Commandant, Adamu Salihu, while interacting with journalists on the level of preparation put in place by the command to forestall the breakdown of law and order during the celebration, said all tactical units which include, the Rapid Responds Squad, SWAT team and Special Female Squad, have been deployed to tackle serious threats to peace during the celebration.
He urged the people of the state to imbibe the lessons of love and sacrifice learnt during the period and to be security conscious.
This, he believed, can be achieved when the people report every suspicious persons or activities around them to the nearest security agency for immediate response.
“The biggest lessons of Easter are love and sacrifice. We must learn to love one another and also make certain sacrifices for our country to live in peace and enjoy the prosperity we so desire,” he said.
“I urge all Tarabans to be security conscious while celebrating Easter and to report every suspicious persons or activities around them to the nearest security agency for immediate response,” he added.
