Eden Sessions, 12 June-13 July
If you’ve never visited Cornwall’s wondrous Eden Project, here’s your chance to. Tickets to the Eden Sessions include two-day entry to the gardens and Biomes, and you can catch sets from DJ Fatboy Slim, Scottish crooner Paolo Nutini, Suede and Manic Street Preachers and US sad-rockers The National. You can get tickets here.
Black Deer, 14-16 June
Dig out your Stetson and practice your best line dance routine, because Britain’s top destination for country and Americana lovers is returning to Kent’s Eridge Park stronger than ever. The line-up includes industry legends like Joe Bonamassa, Sheryl Crow and Seasick Steve. Tickets are available here.
Download, 14-16 June
Every year, Download welcomes the biggest names in metal to Donington Park, and 2024 is no different – but, encouragingly, festival organisers have decided to swap the usual legacy headliners for (relatively) younger acts ready to take on the challenge. Catch crowning sets from Queens of the Stone Age, Fall Out Boy and Avenged Sevenfold, as well as Limp Bizkit, Enter Shikari and While She Sleeps. Tickets are available here.
Meltdown, 14-23 June
Over the years, the Southbank Centre’s Meltdown festival line-ups have been curated by the biggest names from rock and pop, from The Cure’s Robert Smith to David Bowie and Patti Smith. Disco icon Chaka Khan will spearhead this year’s event, performing hits such as Ain’t Nobody and I’m Every Woman, alongside the likes of Broadway star Todrick Hall, acid jazz group Incognito and hip hop duo Morcheeba. You can get tickets here.
On the Mount at Wasing, 17-29 June
A fabulous line-up remains the key to a festival’s success, of course, but a wonderful setting never hurts. The sophomore year of this Berkshire-based festival, set in a gorgeous natural amphitheatre, continues its focus on wellbeing and relaxation, supplemented by sets from the likes of Crowded House, Paolo Nutini, Sophie Ellis Bextor and Underworld. You can get tickets here.
Isle of Wight, 20-23 June
One of Britain’s most naturally stunning – and gloriously old-school – festivals thanks to its home island and friendly punters, Isle of Wight’s organisers have delivered another stonking line-up packed with rock, indie and soul. Pop-punk pioneers Green Day will headline Sunday (a week before playing Wembley Stadium), with The Prodigy and Pet Shop Boys also topping the bill. Other acts include The Streets, Simple Minds and Suede. Don’t forget your SPF (fingers crossed). Tickets are available here.
Bristol Sounds, 22-30 June
Taking place on Bristol’s idyllic Harbour, a welcomingly diverse lineup: catch sets from Placebo, James Arthur, Skindred and Gentlemen’s Dub Club vs the Skints. Known for its hard-partying, fun-loving population, Bristol always means a good time. Tickets are available here.
Glastonbury, 26-30 June
Another year, another sold-out Glastonbury after a pre-Christmas scramble for tickets crashed the internet… For those lucky enough to have grabbed one, it will undoubtedly be another instalment of starry musicians, all-night dancing (hopefully, not below the pouring rain) and innovative comedy and art. This year’s lineup is yet to be announced, but Dua Lipa, Coldplay and Stevie Wonder are strongly rumoured to be the headliners, while the coveted Sunday teatime ‘legend’ slot could go to Barbra Streisand, Shania Twain or Stevie Nicks. Tickets are sold out, but there will be a resale in April.
