The Chief Spokesperson of Leke/Omede Campaign Council in the last Kogi Governorship Election, Shola Samuel has said that the Governorship candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon Leke Abejide is not in a position to truncate the ongoing tribunal case between Alhaji Muritala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Hon. Leke Abeji is presently a member of the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly representing Yagba Federal Constituency.
On Sunday, the spokesperson for the campaign council issued the statement to debunk a publication in some bloggers accusing Hon Leke Abejide of leading Okun leaders of thought to Villa.
The statement read as follows, “Our principal is a Democrat and he was among the first contestants to openly refuse to contest the outcome of the last election in the November election in the court, he is not in position to truncate the on going tribunal case between the duo of Alh Muri Ajaka SDP and the ruling party APC Ahmed Usman Ododo. Lastly, in the coming days, more courtesy calls from government officials, NGOs, security agencies, and individuals will be made to our principal, all with a view to fostering unity and progress of the state.

“The media campaign Council of Leke/Omede attention has been drawn to the above-mentioned news item on some online blogs purportedly dragging our principal name Elder Leke Abejide image to mulky political water of Kogi state which stated that he has completed arrangements to lead Leaders of Okun extraction to the president Ahmed Bola Tunubu to stepped into the on going tribunal case between Ahmed Ododo and Alh Muri Ajaka with a view of truncating justice in favour of the incumbent governor in the state.
“We are surprised by the news items in circulation by some mischief makers without recourse to our principal for his comments.
For the records Elder Leke Abejide contested for the office of Governor of Kogi state in the last November off-season elections under the platform of African Democratic Congress as its flag bearer and immediately the umpire INEC released the results, his position was made public that he would support whoever emerged as declared by INEC that position has not change.
“What was more embarrassing in the news item was attempt to course confusion between the three major ethnic groups in the state when it was alluded that our principal Elder Leke Abejide was drafted into the foray to block the people of Kogi East senatorial districts from retrieving their alleged stolen mandate by the incumbent of Alh Usman Ododo from Central senatorial zone.
“What was more shocking was the alleged powerful link that existed between our principal and the government of president Bola Ahmed Tunubu that would be used to Rai rolled the government of Ahmed Usman Ododo into power by arm twist the on going tribunal case in favour of the APC led government.
