Filmmaker, Yemi Amodu, has said that his new movie titled, ‘Erebe’, addressesthe dangers of illegal mining, which is becoming more rampant in the country.
In a statement sent to Saturday Beats, Amodu, who is a former Global Secretary and Head of Research and Documentation of Theatre Arts and Motion Picture practitioners Association of Nigeria, said, “The movie borders on the crimes and dangers of illegal mining. It is a crime thriller, and I believe it will resonate with movie buffs, as it speaks to the challenges of the day, as well as the dangers of not implementing laws made for society.
“It is thought-provoking, and talks about exploitation. Movie makers can be likened to seers, and this is why the government ought to use filmmaking to sell their policies and promote their agendas.”
The movie, which was shot in Yoruba language, features actors, such as Yinka Salau, Akinola Akano, Jibola Dabo, Jude Chukwuka, Adewale Elesho, Abeni Agbon, Mariam Mustapja, and Abolarinwa Amodu.
Produced by Foluso Adedigba, the movie was made in collaboration with Cousinbayo Commercial Coordinates Limited and Comart Costus Limited.
