Former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has expressed his willingness to return to the Camp Nou dugout in the future but remains committed to his current role at Paris Saint-Germain.
The 53-year-old, renowned for leading Barcelona to a historic treble in 2015, is currently preparing PSG for a Champions League quarter-final clash against his former club.
Speculation has been rife that he could be Barcelona director Deco’s preferred choice to succeed Xavi as Barca’s next manager.
Despite his ties to Barcelona, Enrique has made a strong start to his tenure at PSG since joining last summer, with the club currently dominating Ligue 1.
During a candid Q&A session on his Twitch channel, Enrique acknowledged the possibility of returning to Barcelona but emphasized the complexities involved.
“I have always said that I would like to [return], but the reality is that it is very complicated for paths to cross,” he stated.
“It is difficult to coincide in time. This summer, from what Xavi has said, they will need another coach, but I have a contract and my rule is to continue and be faithful to the people who trust me.”
He further elaborated, “Last summer, I was available, but they had a coach. This summer, they need a coach. It’s difficult for it all to line up.”
