Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa has commiserated with the government and people of Oyo State and the Olubadan-in-Council over the demise of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Olalekan Balogun who joined his ancestors after a brief illness on Thursday.
This was contained in a condolence message signed by the Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Ayedatiwa expressed shock over the death of the first-class monarch.
According to the statement, Adeniyan said “On behalf of the good people of Ondo State, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has commiserated with the people of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on the death of the Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa also extended his commiserations to the Government of Oyo State and Governor Seyi Makinde on the death of the great monarch.
The Governor said the passing of Ọba Lekan Balogun after two years on the throne is a monumental loss that can only be imagined, describing the late monarch as a silent achiever and lover of peace.
“Within a short period of time, he added, Oba Balogun ensured communal peace and stability while deploying his rich experience in the traditional leadership of Ibadan,” he said
While praying to God to give the Oyo State government the wisdom to fill the vacuum the late monarch had left behind, he also prayed for the repose of the soul of the amiable king.
