Kwara United goalkeeper Adewale Adeyinka has said players are to blame for the club’s poor campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League this season.
The Harmony Boys have struggled to hit the ground running in the current campaign.
Kabiru Dogo’s side are currently hovering around the relegation zone.
Adeyinka revealed the players have resolved to put in a good fight to ensure they escape relegation.
“As players, we know we haven’t done well enough but can still do better,” he told Naija Footballers Forum.
“Being in 15th position isn’t too good for the club and the supporters and is not encouraging for the state as well.
“We are taking the remaining fixtures of the season very seriously and am sure we are going to finish strong on the table.
“We have been talking to ourselves to put more effort and the management, the coaches too, are encouraging us to step up our game which I believe we can change the narratives to a positive one.”
Kwara United will face Sporting Lagos next at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Sunday.
