THE Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL) has commended President Bola Tinubu for the establishment of the National Research Fund, saying it would help accelerate development in the country.
NAL, in a statement by its president, Professor Sola Akinrinade, said: “We are confident that, properly implemented, the Fund will help to accelerate development in all its ramifications in the country.
“As an Academy, we are prepared to work with all stakeholders to produce effective and skilled citizens that are nationally relevant and globally competitive.
“With financial support from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), we have in the recent past, worked with the Nigerian Academy of Science to develop a framework for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) Education in this country.
“With the growing understanding of the need to assist the next generation of Nigerians to acquire well-rounded skills for an innovative and creative future, NAL is ready to contribute to national development in this regard.”
