The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume has stated that the federal government has deployed more security operatives to Benue state to tackle the insecurity plaguing the state.
Represented by the Managing Director of Shippers Council, Barr. Pius Akutah, the SGF’ urged the state governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia to make use of the security architecture available to end the killings in the state.
Senator Akume stated this while speaking at the burial ceremony of late Mrs. Msoo Sam Tar in Ushongo LGA of Benue State.
While appreciating the president for appointing Benue people into top government offices, the SGF
reassured Benue youths and women of his readiness to carry them along.
Akutah said the SGF has made the upliftment of youths and women in society his priority because they are the people who have been the pillars behind his political success since 1999.
Also, the Executive Director, Housing, Finance and Accounts, Federal Housing Authority, Dr. Mathias Byuan who spoke at the occasion disclosed that President Bola Tinubu’s administration had given various intervention funds to state governors to tackle insecurity and harsh economy.
According to the director, federal government had made available more than enough funds and palliatives to States for Governors to use in tackling hunger and insecurity.
He recalled that the President recently disclosed that states have continued to receive special funds constantly to tackle insecurity and hunger in the land, saying, ‘Benue cannot be said to be lacking funds to tackle food shortages and insecurity in the state.’
Byuan said that the president implored the government of Benue State to effectively utilize financial allocations granted to the state to solve both food and security crises.
He also reaffirmed President Tinubu’s resolve to appoint more Benue sons and daughters in his administration.
Byuan condoled the deceased family and eulogized Mrs Msoo Sam Tar for her motherly role and prayed God to console the immediate family and the entire Benue people.
Earlier, the State Chairman of APC, Comrade Austin Agada urged the people of the State to remain resolute and keep faith with the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration.
Agada said the APC in Benue State is appreciative of the pivotal roles played by the former Women Leader in helping the party win the 2023 elections in the area.
Comrade Agada who read out contributions made by the late Ushongo Women Leader to the party in her lifetime, also emphasized that the party will ensure the welfare of those left behind by the late APC Chieftain will not be taken for granted now that she has gone to meet the Lord.
In his address, Member Representing Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency, Hon. Terseer Ugbor extolled the leadership qualities of Late Mrs Msoo Tar as woman of substance who was dedicated and determined to leave a positive Mark in all her endeavors.
The occasion was attended by Prince Ademola Adetokunbo Ade-John, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Coastal Tourism and Recreation, Members of the APC State Working Committee, party stakeholders, and political associates.
