Brentford manager, Thomas Frank has defended Arsenal goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale over the mistake that led to his side’s goal in Saturday’s Premier League game.
Frank instead praised the efforts of Brentford’s Yoane Wissa for his unbelievable pressure on Ramsdale that ultimately led to the error.
Despite making the error, Ramsdale
made two sensational saves in the second half to keep Arsenal level.
Frank believes that it could have happened even to Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper, David Raya.
Asked after the game if he instructed his players to deliberately target Ramsdale, Frank said at his post-match press conference: “I think I actually said to Ramsdale I don’t think he deserves to be criticised for a mistake.
“I think it is more unbelievable pressure from Wissa. If you see the way he accelerates it could happen to David Raya.”
