As the World celebrates the International Day for Women, a foremost governorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressive Congress, (APC) in Ondo state, Mr Wale Akinterinwa, has promised to give priority to gender issues if elected the state governor.
Akinterinwa, who stated this on Friday, during the celebration of International Women’s Day celebration, described women as a strong companion in the nation’s building.
He also promised to address the issue of food crisis and youth joblessness in the state and maintained that women’s contributions to food security and the development of the nation cannot be overlooked.
Akinterinwa described women as mothers and builders of homes and the society at large.

According to Akinterinwa in a statement signed by the spokesperson for the Wale Akinterinwa Campaign Organisation, Segun Ajiboye, said: “As pillars of the home, women hold a special place, which if well harnessed by political leaders, will ensure a peaceful and prosperous world.
“Any responsible man would know that women hold a special place in the homes and the society in general. They are the builders of the home and the pillars that hold the home in place.
“Their role and contributions to the nation’s building cannot be overlooked. We know and understand their importance and we are prepared to work together with women to ensure a prosperous and peaceful Ondo State.”
