The Edo State Police Command has disclosed that 643 persons applied for recruitment into the Nigerian Police Force in the state.
Arogidigba Global Journal reports that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Funsho Adegboye, made this known to newsmen on Thursday at the aptitude test centres in Benin city.
Adegboye, however, advised the applicants not to give money to anybody with intent to facilitate their employment.
“I am bringing the message of the Inspector General of Police, IG Kayode Egbetokun, that you don’t have to give any body money to join the police.
“Joining the police is not a secret affairs but an open affair, one you pass this examination you are qualified to join the police.
“The chairman of the Police Service Commission, IG Solomon Arase (rtd), has also reintegrated that police recruitment is an open affair and not for sale,” he said.
The CP added that 90 per cent of the applicants are qualified and fit to join the Police, assuring that those that passed the aptitude and medical tests will be recruited.
