Civil Servants in Bauchi State are set to receive a total of N680 million as outstanding leave grants and allowances.
The State Government has released the sum for immediate disbursement to its employees.
Hajara Yakubu Wanka, the State Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, disclosed this in her office.
She explained that the amount is part of the palliative measures to mitigate the effects of fuel subsidy removal in the country.

During the presentation of the cheque to the Head of Civil Service, Adamu Yahuza, Hajara Yakubu Wanka stated that Governor Sen Bala Mohammed directed the Ministry to promptly pay Civil Servants their leave grant.
She appealed to civil servants for patience, emphasising the administration’s commitment to addressing the challenges facing the people.
She highlighted that the presentation signals the start of better things for civil servants in the state, as evidenced by the presence of Labour Leaders, representatives from the State Head of Service, and Management staff of the Ministry.
