A 33-year-old photographer, Zacheaus Salawadeen, has been killed by yet-to-be-identified assailants in Niger State.
The father of three was reportedly stabbed to death in the early hours of Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at his residence in Tundun Fulani area of Minna.
Zacheaus was until his death, a Special Assistant on Communication in the Office of the Political Adviser to the Niger State Governor.
Residents told Daily Trust that the killers invaded the flat where he resided with his family and stabbed him to death.
One of the sources said other tenants in the house were locked up by killers who forcefully opened the door to the deceased’s flat.
The attackers were said to have carted away the deceased’s valuables including his laptop and camera.
The spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident to the publication.
“On 27/2/2024 at about 0850hrs, it was reported at Bosso Division that on the same date at about 0330hrs, one Zacheaus, 33yrs, of Tudun-Fulani, Minna was attacked in the house by a yet-to-be-identified person(s), who stabbed and robbed him of valuables. He was rushed to the IBB Hospital where he was confirmed dead,” the PPRO stated.
“The police operatives at Bosso Division visited the scene. Some exhibits were recovered from the scene and preliminary investigation has commenced into the unfortunate incident.”
Late Zacheaus, from Okene, Kogi State, graduated from the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
