Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has revealed that Gabriel Jesus suffered a minor injury setback.
Jesus did not take part in training with the rest of the squad ahead of the visit of Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday.
Arteta has confirmed that the Brazil striker suffered a small setback during his recovery from a knee injury.
He said: “We could not resolve it as quickly as we wanted and he had a small reaction in training again.
“We didn’t want to take any more risks because he has been out for quite a while and he is a player that we need at his best.
“We decided to give him a few more days.”
Arteta, however, could have Thomas Partey on the bench for the crucial fixture.
Partey has not played since the 1-0 win over Manchester City in October due to a thigh problem.
