Lagos State deputy gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party, Princess Islamiyat Abiodun Oyefusi has resigned from the party.
She stated this in a Letter titled ‘RE: RESIGNATION OF MEMBERSHIP FROM LABOUR PARTY’, written to her ward chairman and obtained by Tribune Online on Thursday morning.
According to her, it has been a very interesting ten (10) months of her political career, expressing gratitude to Almighty God for seeing her through in good health and with His mercy.
She appreciated Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour for the political window as his deputy, noting that she can no longer see herself aligning with the current values of the Labour Party or as a member of the Labour Party, and the time has come for her to move forward.
This was just as she expressed her deepest gratitude to her team and supporters across the length and breadth of Lagos State and Nigeria in general, who worked tremendously hard with her, despite the difficult terrain, on their achievements during the 2023 electioneering period.
Princess stated that she looked forward to working with them in the future towards achieving their dreams of freeing Lagos from one-party politics, creating a Lagos that works for everyone, and a better/new Nigeria.
