Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has said Erling Haaland shut his critics up after he scored the only goal in their 1-0 victory over Brentford.
Haaland fired blanks in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea last Saturday despite having nine attempts.
But against the Bees on Tuesday, he grabbed his 22nd goal of the campaign to hand the Premier League champions a narrow win.
The result saw Guardiola’s men close the gap with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League to one point.
“Top scorers, top strikers, score a lot of goals, don’t criticise, he will shut your mouth,” Guardiola said.
“Sooner or later he is there. He was out for two months, he lost his grandmother, it is not easy for a human being. In this type of game like Brentford, you need Erling.”
