Immediate past governor of Kwara, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, was on Monday invited for questioning by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ilorin, Kwara.
The Nigerian Tribune gathered that the former governor arrived at the zonal office of the EFCC at about 9:00 am and was interrogated till evening.
Sources in the antigraft office, Ilorin confirmed the development but did not give reasons for the former governor’s current invitation.
Speaking on the development, former Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Alhaji Ahmed, Wahab Oba, said that the former governor’s visit to the EFCC is procedural and routine.
“He was invited and he honoured them as he’s always done. He’s always ready to respond to any query or question regarding his tenure as a governor of the state. So, there’s nothing unusual about the invitation and his honoring the anti-graft agency,” he said.
