TalkSPORT pundit, Ally McCoist, has warned Arsenal not to “obliterate” their salary structure to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.
McCoist insists signing Mbappe would not win the Gunners the Premier League title.
Mbappe’s current PSG deal expires in the summer and Real Madrid are believed to be frontrunners for his signature.
But there are rumours that the player is open to joining Arsenal to follow in the footsteps of Thierry Henry.
But McCoist has cautioned against the potential move as his wage demands are rumoured to be close to £30million per year.
When asked if Arsenal should match Mbappe’s exorbitant wage demands, he said: “No. No chance. Not only would you break it, you’d absolutely have to obliterate it and destroy it and once you do that, you know, it’s happening.
“There’s knocks on the door, ‘He’s on this, I’m only on a quarter of that, I’ve scored this many goals’, etc etc.”
