The newly elected chairman of the JIgawa state Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Alhaji Murtala Musa promised to fight against the campaign of hateful and political enormity for a stronger democracy.
The new chairman made the promise in his acceptance speech delivered shortly after his election and was subsequently sworn into office at the state headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commissioner (INEC) in Dutse.
Musa promised to encourage and insisted on issues-based campaigns not personal attacks, lies and other immortal activities that cause thuggery.
He noted that his administration would focus on promoting more unity among members political parties in the state through open door policy and frequent sensitization workshops and meetings.
The IPAC chairman also promised to provide a permanent secretariat for the organization before the end of his tenure.
Speaking earlier the IPAC national officer also the chairman electoral committee in the state, Hon Isaac Chigizie Udeh, said the election was free, fair and transparent.
Udeh explained that the committee had insisted on all rules and regulations in the conduct of the election.
He said “Election had been conducted in nine positions. Eight out of it is unopposed. It is the only position of publicity secretary that two people had contested and Malam Kabiru Mohd Sadik defeated Malam Ismaila Usman with 15 against three votes.”
Those elected were Alhaji Murtala Musa chairman, Malam Alhassa Umar vice chairman, Comrade Adamu Isah Bello secretary.
Others were Mr Nura Safiyanu treasurer, Alhaji Awwal Ahmad as organizing secretary and Kabiru Mohd Sadik as public secretary.
