A former Director General of the Nigeria-German Chamber of Commerce, Gbenga Adebija, has been conferred with an award by the Nigeria Police Force to recognise what the police described as ‘his contributions to community and safety development.’
In a statement made available to The PUNCH on Monday by Tobi Raymond, Adebija was conferred with the honour at a ceremony held recently in Lagos.
Raymond disclosed further that the officer, who presented the award on behalf of the NPF, CSP Nathaniel Ijaola, lauded the Adebija for his track record of excellent service to the community and the Nigeria Police Force.
“Mr Gbenga Adebija has consistently supported the Nigeria Police Force over the years as a technocrat and business leader, especially through the Police Community Relations Committee, which is an effective platform for mutually beneficial interaction between the Nigeria Police Force and the community,” Ijaola said.
Also speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee in the Bode Thomas area of Lagos State, Samuel Akintoye, said Adebija had offered support and played leadership roles that had enhanced the relationship between the police and the community.
“We are profoundly appreciative of Mr. Adebija’s efforts and we call on other well-meaning individuals to emulate his laudable example of patriotic service to the Nigeria Police Force and our dear fatherland,” Akintoye said.
