The Association of Ekiti Traditional Chieftaincy Title Holders, AETCTH, has condemned the gruesome murder of two traditional rulers in Ekiti State and the abduction of school pupils and staff of Apostolic Faith Nursery and Primary School in Emure-Ekiti.
This was contained in a statement signed by its Chairman, High Chief Olu Ogunsakin, Asolo of Ikole-Ekiti and the Public Relations Officer, High Chief S .A Esan, the Odofinyin of Iyin-Ekiti.
According to the association, governments at all levels should intensify efforts by equipping the security agencies with the necessary equipment to fight crime, especially in Southwest states.
The Chiefs sympathised with the families of the late Obas, their communities and their colleagues in the affected communities and commended the efforts of the State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji in handling the situation.
The statement reads: “We condemn the gruesome murder of our royal traditional rulers and the abduction of the pupils and staff of Apostolic Faith Nursery and Primary School in Emure-Ekiti.
“As a body, we are ready to exchange and collaborate on areas of security.
“We advise our government at all levels, particularly the South-West states, to empower and equip all our local security outfits.”
