Ahead of the February 17 conduct of the All Progressives Congress governorship primary in Edo State, the party National Working Committee has announced former Minister of Sports and Special Duties, Professor Taoheed Adedoja, as Chairman of the 7-Man Screening Committee. Dr Sani Danjuma will serve as secretary.
In the same vein, the Abdullahi Umar Ganduje-led national leadership also constituted a five-man screening appeal committee with Senator Ibrahim Danbaba as chairman.
Both committees will be inaugurated on Thursday.
Checks revealed that 12 aspirants are contenders for the APC ticket ahead of the September governorship election in the south-south state.
The list includes three former governorship candidates: Pastor Osagie Andrew Ize-Iyamu, Gen. Charles Ehigie Airhiavbere (Rtd.), Senator Oserheimen Osunbor, and former Minister of Budget Planning, Prince Clem Agba.
Others are Senator Monday Okpebholo, Honourables Lucky Imasuen, Anamero Sunday Dekeri, and Engineer Gideon Ikhine. Others: Col. David Imuse (Rtd.), Blessing Agbomhere, Honourable Dennis Idahosa, and Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe.
