The 16-year-olds were revealed to be Scarlett Jenkinson and Eddie Ratcliffe in Manchester Crown Court today, after the judge lifted an anonymity order that had been in place throughout the trial. Jenkinson was told she must serve a minimum of 22 years before being considered for release, while Ratcliffe was told he must serve a minimum of 20 years. Speaking at the sentencing of Scarlett Jenkinson and Eddie Ratcliffe, the victim’s father said being the parent of a transgender child was “difficult”. Peter Spooner said: “Without people accusing me of dead naming my child, most of my memories are with my son Brett.”
