The Benue State All Progressive Congress, APC, has suspended the Benue State House of Assembly member representing Makurdi North state constituency, Berger Alfred, over anti-party activities.
This was disclosed in Makurdi on Tuesday in a communiqué read by the state chairman of the APC, Austin Agada, at the state secretariat of the party.
He said Alfred refused to appear before a disciplinary committee constituted by the party to investigate allegations of gross anti-party activities levelled against him by concerned members of APC.
Agada said the activities of Alfred, if not checked, will adversely affect the fortunes of the party and will be cited as a precedent by others.
He said: “Hon Berger Alfred, member of the Benue State House of Assembly, is hereby suspended indefinitely for anti-party activities pending the outcome of further investigations that may lead to his expulsion, which has been communicated to the national leadership of the party.”
