10 newly promoted Deputy Superintendents of Police, DSPs, have unanimously accepted the challenge imposed by their new ranks saying it comes with more responsibilities.
The second in command of the promoted officers, at the zone six X-Squad, DSP Egomi Egomi, spoke on behalf of others after the Assistant Inspector General of Police for the zone, Jonathan Towuru decorated them with their new ranks.
Egomi said the morale-boosting rank will spur them to fight crimes better and also act much better to affirm the confidence reposed in them.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. We’re going to perform more than before. This promotion is a morale booster in our career.
“What we were unable to do before, we are going to do it much better in terms of crime fighting to stem the tide of criminality.”
In his charge, AIG Jonathan Towuru said the newly promoted senior police officers must know that they are now to lead in their units.
He said the police hierarchy found them worthy of the new roles.
He charged them to be disciplined and exhibit leadership qualities.
“Good leadership acumen is expected of you all in the police service”, he emphasized.
