It was a rousy welcome as Dr Asue Ighodalo, governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming election in Edo visited the leadership and caucus members of the party in Ubiaja, Uromi and Igueben, all in Edo Central Senatorial District of the state recently.
The visits which are in continuation of Ighodalo’s state-wide local government tour aimed at soliciting for support ahead of the PDP governorship primaries.
Addressing the monmouth crowd of party supporters which throng the venues of visit as early as 7:30am, Dr. Ighodalo appealed for support from the people in order for him to get the sole ticket of the PDP for the September 21, election.
He maintained that the Edo State is blessed with abundant natural resources, noting that if harnessed properly would help to reduce the scourge of poverty and other issues affecting the people.
The erudite lawyer cum financial expert posited that Edo of little or no poverty is achievable if the right person is at the helm of affairs, hence, the need for people to nominate him as candidate of the PDP.
Ighodalo disclosed that his ambition is to provide good governance not to a section of the state but for the entire people of Edo, especially with his wealth of experience and capacity.
The frontline aspirant, however, assured the people of massive development, just as he promised not to disappoint the Senatorial District and by extension Edo State if given the mandate to pilot the affairs of the state.
Speaking at the event, the former Commissioner for Agriculture in Edo and PDP Leader in Uromi, Prince Joe Okojie, assured the aspirant of the areas’ full support towards getting the party ticket.
According to Prince Okojie, the monmouth crowd that greeted Ighodalo’s visits is a true reflection of his acceptance in Edo Central Senatorial District.
Others who galvanised support for Ighodalo during the visit include; the Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Maria Edekor, Hon. Friday Itulah, Hon. John Yakubu, Hon (Barr.) Akhere Ogbesia.
