Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has said that Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazario would have won six Ballon d’Or awards ahead of Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo in his career had he remained fit.
Speaking on his YouTube podcast, Vibe with Five, Ferdinand insisted that the two-time Ballon d’Or winner would have added four more awards to his collection if he had stayed fit.
A tally of six Ballons d’Or awards would place Ronaldo second on the all-time list, behind Lionel Messi and one ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.
“If he doesn’t get injured, he probably gets six [Ballon d’Or awards],” Ferdinand said.
Ronaldo, 47, has since retired from the game.
He played for top European clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan and Inter Milan.
