Kano Pillars head coach Abubakar Musa said his players’ hard work paid off in their 2-1 win over Heartland on Sunday.
Musa revealed that he anticipated a tough battle against the Naze Millionaires which prompted their intense preparation for the game.
He also expressed satisfaction with the overall performance of his team.
Sulaiman Idris gave the Sai Masu Gida the lead in the 49 minutes before veteran midfielder Rabiu Ali added the second from the spot in the 85 minutes at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
Clement Ogbobe reduced the deficit in the final seconds of the encounter.
“I’m very satisfied with the overall performance of the team,” he said in a post-match interview.
“We knew it was going to be a tough match, so we trained hard and it paid off.”
Kano Pillars moved to fifth position on the NPFL table following the win.
