The Managing Director of Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority, NEPZA, Dr Olufemi Ogunyemi has called on the Cross River State government to take advantage of its tax incentives.
The Authority wants the state to set up enterprises or groups of enterprises in their hub to harness viable economic benefits to boost the revenue-generating base of the State.
At a courtesy call on the Deputy Governor, Peter Odey, on Monday, Ogunyemi spoke about the agency’s readiness to boost trade in the zone, and to partner and support the state.
The NEPZA boss said the agency will encourage business owners in the state.
In his words, Ogunyemi said “NEPZA and the Calabar Free Trade Zone are determined to give the state government the needed support within the ambit of the law that established Free Trade Zones in Nigeria.
“This is to ensure a prosperous tenure for the present administration, reiterating NEPZA’s commitment.”
Responding, the Deputy Governor, assured NEPZA of the state government’s readiness to partner and give it the needed support to carry out its operations in the state without any hitches.
Odey agreed that if EPZ works, it is also to the state’s benefit because it will make other state-owned facilities like Tinapa work
He called on EPZ to help market Tinapa by directing potential investors to the business resort.
