Putin could declare war on Nato in ‘five to eight years’
German defence minister Boris Pistorius made the comments after a top Nato official warned of an all-out war with Russia breaking out by the 2040s. Adml Rob Bauer, chairman of Nato’s military committee, said on Thursday that civilians needed to be ready for a conflict with Russia within 20 years.
Prince Harry faces £750,000 legal bill after withdrawing libel case against Mail on Sunday
The Duke of Sussex has withdrawn his libel case against the Mail on Sunday and now faces an estimated legal bill of more than £750,000. Prince Harry’s lawyers informed the court at 10am on Friday that he was “discontinuing” his case. The development came just hours before he was due to hand over relevant documents to the High Court.

The Covid Inquiry has heard Nicola Sturgeon and her deputy deleted all of their pandemic WhatsApp messages. The inquiry was told that Ms Sturgeon, the former first minister, had “retained no messages whatsoever” over the pandemic while John Swinney, her deputy, used an “auto-delete function”.
