Equatorial Guinea have gone top of Group A in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, thanks to a 4-2 win over Guinea-Bissau in Thursday’s first game.
Emilio Nsue opened the scoring for Nzalang Nacional in the 21st minute.
An Esteban Orozco Fernandez own goal made it 1-1 at halftime.
After the break, Equatorial Guinea went on a rampage, with Josete Miranda giving them the lead again.
Nsue then scored two goals within 10 minutes to complete his hat-trick. There was enough time for Ze Turbo to reduce the deficit in added time.
The win takes them up to four points after they drew 1-1 with Nigeria in their first game.
Guinea-Bissau are as good as eliminated, as they have lost their two matches.
Cote d’Ivoire take on the Super Eagles, having won their opener 2-0 against Guinea-Bissau.
