The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, has slammed Peter Obi over a doctors’ strike in Anambra State, alleging that the former governor responded to the prolonged industrial action by saying, “Luckily, nobody died.”
Sowore made the allegation in a post on X, claiming he confronted Obi during the Nigerian Bar Association’s annual general conference in Port Harcourt over a strike that reportedly lasted more than a year.
According to Sowore, Obi acknowledged the strike but made the remark, which he described as “the most callous statement I have ever heard from anyone.”
Sowore also accused the former Anambra governor of being “anti-healthcare,” alleging that he failed to provide healthcare centres at the local government and ward levels while in office.
