THE Ogun State branch of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) has been lauded for its excellence and discipline at the institute’s 2026 Professional Development Conference and Annual General Meeting.
The three-day conference, held between October 14 and 16, at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia, Abia State, brought together safety professionals from across the country and beyond.
The conference, with the theme, “Building Resilient Workplaces: Advancing Psychosocial Wellbeing for Sustainable Development and National Growth,” harped on the growing importance of psychosocial wellbeing in the workplace.
It emphasised that workplace safety should go beyond prevention of physical injuries to address stress, burnout and other psychological hazards that affect workers’ health and productivity.
The Ogun contingent, led by its Chairman, Amoo Temitope, FISPN, however, was the main attraction at the event.
With impeccable coordination in uniform, sharp appearance, uncommon courtesy and striking unity of purpose, the contingent commanded attention and set itself apart among state delegations.
Delegates and observers described the branch’s conduct as a reflection of discipline, teamwork and strong professional identity, noting that it projected a positive image of Ogun State and its commitment to advancing occupational safety and health standards.
The national conference, held under the leadership of the President, Chief (Dr.) Stephen Udezi, FISPN, provided a platform for professional development, knowledge sharing and advocacy for safer and healthier workplaces in the country.
Participants, in their separate remarks, said Ogun’s impressive outing underscored the value of responsible leadership, collaboration and collective commitment to professional excellence, while also reinforcing effective safety practices as drivers of sustainable development and national growth.
