Super Eagles attacker, Terem Moffi has admitted that Jose Peseiro’s men are under pressure at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) as the players are aware of the importance of the tournament.
Nigeria played 1-1 in their AFCON opener against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday afternoon.
The Super Eagles will be heading into their next game against Ivory Coast on Thursday under massive pressure as they need to record their first victory of the tournament.
They will be in a good position if they beat the host nation ahead of their final game against Guinea Bissau.
“The pressure is real, it is a big competition. We know what is at stake, we know what Nigerians want and we know what we want as well,” Moffi said to Latifat Adebayo-Ohio.
“The pressure is real, we have to stay focused.”
Moffi was initially omitted from the Super Eagles’ 25-man squad.
The OGC Nice star had to come in to replace the injured Victor Boniface.
