Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed Yinka Oladoyinbo as Executive Assistant on Information and Orientation, and Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa and Dapo Falade as Senior Special Assistants on Information and Orientation.
The governor also appointed the immediate past Chairman of the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission, Pastor Akin Alamu, as a member of the Oyo State Elders’ Council.
The appointments were announced in a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju.
Oladoyinbo is the head of Nigerian Tribune’s Politics desk.
Alamu, a former member of the Oyo State Advisory Council, headed TESCOM until the recent dissolution of its board.
Makinde also appointed Elijah Kolawole Akanmu as Special Adviser on Housing and a member of the board of the Oyo State Housing Corporation, while Sakariya Mohammed Taofik was named Special Adviser on Rural Development.

Other appointees are Seun Adelore, Senior Special Assistant on Chieftaincy Matters, and a former Chairman of the Oyo State Sports Council, Gbenga Adewusi, who was named Executive Assistant on Sports Commission.
Ogundele Quadri was appointed Special Assistant on Urban Development; Elder Olawale Olugbenga, JP, Special Assistant on Culture and Tourism; and Ibrahim Abayomi, Executive Assistant on Works.
The letters conveying the appointments were signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi.
Makinde charged the appointees to discharge their duties with dedication, commitment and loyalty to the people and government of Oyo State.
The appointments take immediate effect.
Mr. Oladoyinbo Yinka
Mr. Yinka Oladoyinbo is a deputy editor of the Nigerian Tribune. With 27 years post qualification experience as a journalist, he has worked with Daily Trust and The Punch as State correspondent in Lagos, Ondo and Kogi States.
He is also a grassroots politician who recently served as Secretary of Ibadan Southwest Local Government. He presently heads the Politics Desk of the Nigerian Tribune, Nigeria’s oldest newspaper.
Ms. Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa
Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa is a Radio and Television broadcast media professional with more than 16 years of experience building brands, voices, and platforms across Nigeria’s media landscape. She has built her career primarily in Ibadan, following a foundation in music production and performance in London before returning to Nigeria in 2008. She also has a Masters in communication and Language Arts from the prestigious University of Ibadan.
Ronke has twice held the role of General Manager within broadcast media.
A TEDx speaker, professional master of ceremonies, and content creator, Ronke is a regular voice on stages focused on media, communication, and personal branding.
She serves on the boards of Educare Trust and Alliance Française Ibadan, contributing to education and cultural exchange initiatives.
Mr. Dapo Falade
Mr. Dapo Falade is a journalist with more than 20 years covering and politics.
He built a distinguished career at the Nigerian Tribune, Nigeria’s oldest surviving newspaper, rising to Deputy Editor.
Over his tenure, he led major political and regional coverage as State Correspondent in Ekiti and Rivers, and as the lead Senate Correspondent in Abuja.
In May 2020, he founded Newscoven.com, a fast-growing digital news platform delivering high-impact journalism in the new media era.
