First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged Nigerians to reject division and embrace the values that unite us as one people.
She made the appeal in a special message to mark the International Day of Peace 2026.
The First Lady, who noted that the home front is the foundation for promoting peace, declared that tolerance, patience, justice, mutual respect, and dialogue are core values that strengthen it.
Senator Tinubu urged Nigerians to invest in peace through their words, choices, and actions every day.
Her message read:
“The International Day of Peace 2026, with the theme ‘Invest in Peace—For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day’, reminds us that lasting peace requires the commitment and participation of all of us.
“Peace begins in our homes and extends to our schools, workplaces, and communities. It is strengthened through tolerance, patience, justice, mutual respect, and dialogue.
“I encourage all Nigerians to reject division and embrace the values that unite us as one people. Let us invest in peace through our words, choices, and actions every day.
“Happy International Day of Peace 2026.”
