The Chairman of Kogi Local Government Area, Musa Abdulmalik, has assured that the council remains peaceful, united and firmly committed to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in the 2027 general elections.
Musa gave the assurance on Monday when he received the Workplace Security Campaign team led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka, during its sensitisation visit to the local government.
The council chairman described the campaign as timely, relevant and result-oriented, stressing that the performance of the Ododo administration had provided sufficient reasons for the people to support its continuity.
He said the governor’s achievements, particularly in areas affecting workers and the general development of the state, demonstrated that his administration deserved another term.
“This visit is the first of its kind, considering the calibre of former and present labour leaders who are committed to the growth of the state. I can see strong support for Governor Ododo, and I am grateful indeed,” Musa said.
He added that Kogi Local Government was a “family local government” that remained firmly behind Governor Ododo and President Tinubu.
The NULGE Chairman in the area, Comrade Yakubu Mohammed, also expressed support for the administration, commending Governor Ododo for what he described as workers’ welfare programmes.
Yakubu announced a vote of confidence in the governor and praised him for appointing former labour leaders, including Comrade Onuh Edoka, into key positions in government.

Addressing the workers, the Kogi State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Gabriel Amari, urged them not to be misled by what he described as desperate politicians seeking to undermine the administration.
He maintained that Governor Ododo had done enough, particularly in the area of workers’ welfare, to justify his re-election.
Earlier, the team leader, Comrade Onuh Edoka, sensitised workers on workplace security and personal safety.
He advised workers to always make their destinations known to trusted colleagues and maintain peaceful relationships with their neighbours and those around them.
Edoka also urged the workers to assess the achievements of the present administration against the situation in the past before making decisions about their political future.
According to him, job security and workers’ welfare should remain central considerations in determining the direction of their support ahead of the 2027 elections.
He commended Chairman Musa for personally receiving the campaign team, describing the gesture as a demonstration of humility and commitment to the welfare of workers. Edoka assured the council chairman of the continued support and cooperation of workers in the area.
