The Executive Chairman of Geneith Pharmaceuticals, Chief Emmanuel Umenwa, has called on Nigerians and healthcare stakeholders to unite in the fight against malaria, saying the country must work collectively towards becoming malaria-free.

Umenwa made the call during a birthday celebration organised by staff and associates of Geneith Pharmaceuticals, alongside the Managing Director and CEO of CEOAFRICA and initiator of the Geneith Health Competition (GHC), Prince Cletus Sunday Iloabanafor, and members of the GHC team.
He said: “The best way to celebrate my birthday is to join the fight against malaria and let us make Nigeria a malaria-free nation.”
Umenwa, who was received with cheers and goodwill at the company’s headquarters, said the fight against malaria should be made a collective priority to save lives and strengthen public health.
Tributes were also paid to him for his leadership, commitment to staff welfare, healthcare development and philanthropic activities.
The Geneith Pharmaceuticals chairman appreciated his staff, business associates, industry stakeholders and well-wishers for their prayers and goodwill messages, pledging to remain committed to excellence, integrity and service to Nigerians.
Iloabanafor described Umenwa as a distinguished pharmaceutical industry leader whose contributions had impacted healthcare delivery and community development in Nigeria.
“Chief Umenwa is a beacon of excellence whose contributions to the pharmaceutical sector have saved countless lives and elevated standards of healthcare delivery,” he said.
He commended Umenwa’s journey in the pharmaceutical industry, noting that his leadership had been characterised by courage, innovation, integrity and commitment to improving access to quality healthcare.
Umenwa, who founded and heads Geneith Pharmaceuticals, has over two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and an active Rotarian.
He has received several recognitions, including the Pillar of Pharmacy Award from the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Branch, and the National Outstanding Leadership Performance Award from the National Association of Polytechnic Students.
His philanthropic activities have focused on healthcare access, medical support, health awareness and the fight against preventable diseases, particularly malaria.
Also speaking, the Geneith Health National Coordinator, Pharm. Blessing Ghensel, described Umenwa as a great leader whose passion for youth development and quality healthcare had remained evident.
