The new Commissioner of Police in Taraba State, Edwin Ogbeghsgha, has assured residents of the command’s commitment to proactive, intelligence-led and community-oriented policing to enhance security across the state.
Ogbeghsgha gave the assurance on Monday while officially taking over the leadership of the Taraba state police command from his predecessor, Moorkwap Sebastian Dongshal, who has retired from service.
The new commissioner said the command would strengthen collaboration with sister security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders to prevent crime and maintain peace across the state.
He called on the Taraba state government and members of the public to support the Police by providing timely and credible information on suspicious activities.
According to him, information supplied by members of the public would be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
Ogbeghsgha also warned criminals and their collaborators that the command would remain resolute in confronting criminal activities and ensuring that offenders are brought to justice.
He assured the people of Taraba that their safety and security would remain his top priority, urging residents to remain law-abiding and security-conscious.
