Oyo State Government has conducted the 2026 mandatory confirmation examination for more than 4,500 officers on Grade Levels 1 to 6 across various cadres in the state civil service.
The examination, organised by the Ministry of Establishments and Training, was held simultaneously at seven designated zonal centres across the state on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
The exercise, which commenced at 9:00 a.m., attracted candidates from various junior cadres, including Clerical Officers, Clerical Assistants, Store Attendants and other allied positions.

Speaking to candidates at the Simeon Adebo Staff Development Centre, which served as the examination centre for Ibadan Zones 1 and 2, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Hameed Alade Bello, urged the participants to remain patient and focused while waiting for their respective batches.
Bello assured the candidates that every eligible officer would be given the opportunity to sit for the examination.
He said, “The examination will be conducted for every eligible officer. I want you to remain patient while waiting for your respective batches and put in your best to pass the examination.”
The permanent secretary described the examination as an important requirement for career progression, stressing that officers appointed into the junior cadres are expected to pass the examination within two years of their appointment to qualify for confirmation of their appointments.
He said, “This examination is a window to further career development, so I encourage you to take it seriously and do your best to pass.”
The examination covered areas including Public Service Rules I and II and current affairs.
The ministry said the results would be released and communicated to the candidates through their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) after completion of the grading process.
