The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has congratulated former governors, Willie Obiano and Dr Chris Ngige on their birthdays.
Both men were born on August 8, and are celebrating their 71st and 74th birthdays respectively on Saturday.
The governor described his predecessors in glowing words, noting their contributions to the growth of the state.
To Obiano, Soludo said, “you’re a worthy son of Anambra, whose eight years in office impacted the state’s progressive development.
“I recall Chief Obiano’s contributions to the growth of Anambra State, his progressive initiatives in the growth and development of the state during his tenure as Governor of Anambra remains deeply appreciated
“His investments in other infrastructural developments in the state, marks him out as a patriot who deserves to be celebrated on this special occasion of his birthday.
“Therefore, I wish former Governor Willie Obiano a happy birthday today, with prayers for his sustained good health, joy, and many more years of a fulfilled, good life.”
To Ngige who was also a former senator for Anambra Central District and the Minister of Labour and Employment under late President Muhammadu Buhari, Soludo expressed his felicitations, noting his contributions to the state during a formative and challenging period in its political history.
He noted that Ngige emphasised discipline in public administration, and lauded his efforts in infrastructural development.
The Chief Press Secretary to Soludo, Mr Christian Aburime in a press release said, “The Governor also commended Dr Ngige’s subsequent record of service to Anambra and to the nation, including his years representing Anambra Central in the Senate and his service as a former Minister of Labour and Employment.
“Thus, Governor Soludo celebrates with Dr Chris Ngige as he marks another birthday, wishing him a memorable celebration with robust health, continued wisdom, and God’s abundant blessings in the years ahead.”
