Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has declared that the judiciary is thriving independently under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
This is coming in the wake of the Supreme Court judgment which upheld his election as the governor of Bauchi state.
Arogidigba Global Journal reports that In a judgment delivered on Friday, the apex court dismissed the appeal filed by Sadique Abubakar of the All Progressive Congress, APC, against Mohammed’s election, for lacking in merit.
Addressing a mammoth crowd which trooped to the Government House in Bauchi on Saturday to celebrate his victory at the Supreme Court, Mohammed said, “I’m grateful to the Nigerian judiciary. I’m going to President Tinubu for allowing the rule of law to persist, irrespective of the lies. No amount of mischief will bring us down.
“President Tinubu is a beacon of the rule of law worthy of emulation by all.”
Mohammed, however said his victory was not without obstacles , alleging that some political heavyweights from Bauchi State attempted to create a rift between him and the President.
“Some people connived with former leaders of the state to say all sorts of lies against me, and to make the leadership of the nation see me as a problem.
“You know we have so many detractors, but I’m a warrior by birth. No amount of mischief will bring us down.”
Speaking earlier, the state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Hamza Koshe Akuyam, advised the governor to exercise power with restraint and accord human dignity to accommodate all categories of people.
