The University of Otago International Excellence Scholarships provides funding to support Master’s and Doctoral students studying at the University of Otago.
The Scholarship is available to both domestic and international students with funding up to $30,696 per year for Master’s and Doctoral studies. Candidates for professional doctorates, are also welcome to apply.
Requirements
To be considered for the University of Otago International Excellence Scholarships, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:
For Master’s Scholarships
- Be applying for their first Master’s degree.
- Enroll in a thesis-based Master’s program.
- Demonstrate excellent academic performance.
- Meet the admission requirements of the University of Otago.
- Be domestic or international students.
For PhD Scholarships
- Be applying for their first doctoral degree.
- Demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and research potential.
- Meet the admission requirements for a PhD program.
- Be domestic or international students.
Benefits
- NZ$18,204 stipend per annum plus a tuition fee waiver for 1 year capped at NZ$35,000 for Master’s study (excludes student services fee and insurance)
- Doctor of Philosophy: NZ$$30,696 stipend per annum plus a domestic tuition fees waiver for 36 months (excludes student services fee and insurance) Professional Doctorates (DClinDent, DMA, DBA, EDd) – NZ$32,544 stipend per annum plus a tuition fee waiver for up to 36 months capped at the domestic rate (excludes student services fee and insurance).
