The Governing Council of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi, FUBK, has dismissed the Director of Information and Communication Technology, ICT, Isah Yusuf Tsafe, after finding him culpable of gross misconduct, negligence and failure to account for university assets under his custody.
The decision was announced in a statement issued by the university’s Head of Information and Public Relations, Jamilu Magaji.
According to the statement, the council took the action following disciplinary proceedings that established allegations of misconduct against the former director.
In a separate disciplinary measure, the council also demoted an ICT staff member, Abdullahi Mohammed Adamu, by one grade level and barred him from promotion for the next five years.
The university said Adamu was found to have engaged in financial transactions with parents of admission seekers and involved himself in admission-related activities despite not being a member of the university’s admissions process.
“The Council also directed the university management to recover or surcharge the value of all outstanding university property linked to the case,” the statement said.
The statement noted that the decisions reflected the council’s commitment to upholding merit, discipline and professionalism in the administration of the university, while ensuring that accountability and responsible conduct remain central to its operations.
