The Zamfara State government has outlined how it utilises funds from the World Bank’s State Enabling Business Environment Reforms (SABER) Programme, emphasising that these funds are directed towards the growth and development of the state.
This information was shared by Governor Dauda Lawal, who was represented by Deputy Governor Mallam Mani Mummuni, during the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) national town hall and state engagement tour in Zamfara State.
The tour was part of a nationwide town hall meeting and stakeholder engagement focused on the current status of the SABER Programme.
According to the deputy governor, the state needs to strengthen its business sector. To achieve this, the current administration is prioritising the provision of infrastructure that directly addresses the needs and aspirations of business groups within the state.
“SABER aims to enhance the implementation of Business Enabling Reforms. The Zamfara State Government has begun strengthening the systems that support the Business Enabling Environment in its various agencies,” he stated.

“However, in line with the present administration of Governor Dauda Lawal (Gamjin Gusau), effort was made in providing infrastructures and also utilising all funds drawn from the World Bank SABER programme for the growth and development”.He mentioned.
He further disclosed that the state government has Constructed Four (4) Small Claims Courts for the quick determination of commercial disputes in Gusau, Kaura Namoda, Gummi and Talata Mafara towns in the state.
During the PEBEC tour to the northwest, Barrister Jafar Shu’aibu emphasized the importance of understanding the investment lifecycle and enhancing the investor experience.
Sani Bukkuyum, the Zamfara State PEBEC focal person and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Budget and Planning, encouraged stakeholders at the town hall meeting to actively propose meaningful solutions to support the government’s efforts in building a resilient and inclusive economy for everyone.
