Operatives of the Nasarawa State Command’s Anti-Robbery Unit acting based on credible information have arrested one notorious armed robbery suspect.
The suspect, Kabiru Alhaji Yusuf, was arrested on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, along Fadama Bauna, a community in the Lafia Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesperson of the command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, January 11, said police operatives were on intelligence-led patrol when they intercepted men suspected to be armed robbers riding on an unregistered Bajaj Motorcycle.
“The hoodlums abandoned the motorcycle and took to flight on sighting the policemen, but were given a hot chase,” the statement read.
“Consequently, one Kabiru Alhaji Yusuf was arrested while two others escaped. A search was conducted on him where one AK 47 rifle and a motorcycle were recovered as an exhibit,” Nansel added.
