Special Adviser to Delta State Governor on Investment, Tony Amechi, has called for peace and order in Ukwuani and Ndoshimili communities. The appeal comes amid a planned protest against persistent electricity challenges affecting Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West and Ukwuani local government areas.
Amechi acknowledged the constitutional right to protest, noting the unacceptable state of electricity supply and its impact on businesses and livelihoods. While recognizing discord among leaders, he urged calm, emphasizing the need for peaceful expression of grievances.
He said the people of Ndokwa land have suffered enough marginalisation, maintaining that the Federal Government should right the wrongs of the past, starting with a functional power step-down in Ndokwaland.
Amechi noted that the agitations by the youths is not misplaced and has the support of all but the approach should not be violent rather employing peaceful approach to achieve the aims and objectives is strongly advised.
