The Civil Society Group for Good Governance, CSGGG, has called on anti-graft agencies to be transparent and diligent in their investigations against people indicted for money laundering and other finance-related matters.
The convener of CSGGG, Ogakwu Dominic, made this call while briefing newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja, saying the general public and the civil society community are actively interested in the outcome of any matter.
He said the swift response of President Bola Tinubu in suspending those directly involved in sharp practices exposed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, indicates his commitment to nip corruption in the bud.
According to him, the fight against corruption would afford Nigeria and Nigerians the giant strides it deserves as part of President Tinubu’s strategy in achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration.
The group was reacting to the recent allegations of fraudulent activities besieging the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation and its minister, Betta Edu, as well as the alleged involvement of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo in a N438 million humanitarian ministry contract.
